Cathedral Academy Sports Day Y7, Y8 & Y9
What is Virtual Sports Day?
Virtual Sports Day is an opportunity to take on a series of physical activity challenges and compete for your form against other forms for fun, prizes and the overall victory in the competition. We want to get as many people to get involved as possible during the challenge week.
There are 8 challenges which you can complete throughout the week; with the exception of Challenge #1 ‘1km run, walk, cycle’, you can practice and perform this challenge as many times as you want but are only allowed to submit one entry for the 1km distance (your best result). Each time you go for a jog, walk, run or bike ride, you should record your 1km distance and time.
You do not have to perform the activities in order or on one day but the aim is to complete as many as possible throughout the week, either timed or to maximum, depending on the activity. Each submitted entry contributes points to your form score and automatically enters you into a prize draw for an Amazon gift voucher and the chance to win some sport equipment. There are points and prizes also for the top performances in each year group along with a chance to share your fun and inspiring activities with us.
For the challenges, you can send a picture, video or TikTok of you performing the physical activity challenges from anytime or anywhere. The most inspiring pictures and/or videos win more points and prizes! The top 5 entries may need video evidence.
Parents and staff are encouraged to enter too and can submit their results on the `results link` ‘Virtual Sports Day’ news section of this website or twitter. Just remember to enter Staff / Parent in the form box.
Please help spread the word and get as many people participating in the Virtual Sports Day Challenge.
Good luck everyone!
