Strong in all areas

We are delighted that we were rated as strong in all areas by Ofsted when they visited in June 2026! It is an extremely high bar to be graded strong in every domain; only around 5% of secondary schools nationally have achieved this under the new Ofsted framework. This represents a decade of success for our academy as part of Trinity Mat since 2016.

Inspectors recognised the culture that makes our academy so special, noting that ‘Everyone is welcome at Trinity Academy Cathedral’ and highlighting our ‘‘no lost sheep’ ethos’, which ensures pupils feel seen, valued and supported. They found that leaders have established ‘a positive culture where pupils flourish’, ‘achieve well’ and ‘rarely need reminders about their behaviour’. The report recognises that ‘leaders place inclusion at the heart of their work’, meaning ‘individual needs are accurately understood’ and there are ‘high aspirations… for all pupils’. Most importantly, inspectors recognised that our young people leave us ‘ready for their next steps with the knowledge and skills that they need to be successful.’
