Name Change FAQs

In January 2021, the school name changed to Trinity Academy Cathedral.

We understand you may have some questions on this change and have tried to answer some of them below. Please contact us if you need any additional information.

Why is the school changing name?

While recognising that each school is a unique part of its local community, with a distinct character and culture, we are to bring all our academies together under the Trinity MAT name.

By including ‘Trinity Academy’ in all our academies’ names, we are communicating that we are a family of schools who work together with the shared aim that all the young people in our care fulfil their potential.

The school name and logo will change, therefore certain items of uniform will need updating. More information appears on the above guide.

From the start of Autumn term, i.e. September 2021

The new blazer should be worn from September 2021.

The new optional jumper should be worn from September 2021.

A student vote took place in February 2021 on the school skirt and tie. The tie will be remaining the same and is available through school and paid for via parent pay. As an alternative to trousers, the academy blue tartan skirt can be worn. This must be knee length and no other skirts will be permitted.

All students must wear the new PE kit with the exception of Year 11 who do not need to purchase a new kit for their final year. Please note Year 7 students already have this kit.

All students will need to wear a blazer with the Trinity Academy Cathedral logo on from September 2021.

The jumper is optional but CAPA Juniors must wear the jumper with the Trinity Academy Cathedral logo from September, not CAPA Juniors.

Students must wear the t-shirt/hoodies with the new logo.
